How to disable the “Only secure content is displayed” message in Internet Explorer




If you use Internet Explorer to access Blackboard you may be familiar with this message: “Only secure content is displayed.”


This message appears when attempting to view a web page that have both secure and non-secure data associate with it.  Blackboard has a lot of pages that contain both secure and non-secure data.  Follow the steps below to disable this security warning.

  • Launch Internet Explorer
  • Click Tool
  • Click Internet Options
  • Click the Security Tab
  • Click the Custom level button

  • Locate the Miscellaneous section
  • Locate Display mixed content
  • Click the Enable-ON button

  • Click Yes if prompted
  • Click OK
  • Click OK to exit Internet Options and return to Internet Explorer
