What do you need to complete verification?

Students must send copies of their Tax Transcripts, not their tax returns, to the financial aid office. You must also carefully and thoroughly complete a Verification Worksheet for dependent or independent students that can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office or the NOVA website. Respond quickly and accurately to all correspondence. Once the Financial Aid Office receives your electronic Student Aid Report (ISIR), we will request additional information to complete your file.

(Starting with the 2014-2015 financial aid award year, NOVA financial aid will begin its transition to the use of online based forms (E-Forms). These forms will be available via the NOVA Financial Aid Dashboard, be directly linked to a student’s MyNOVA “To Do List,” and accept electronic signatures. While this is being launched in a limited capacity, it is important to note that the addition of E-Forms will greatly increase the financial aid office’s ability to process FAFSA applications.)

If information on the FAFSA conflicts with information on the verification form, further clarification will likely be requested. The earlier we receive the required information, the earlier we can determine your eligibility for financial aid. NOVA must have a correct SAR by your last date of enrollment.  The verification process must be completed before the Office of Financial Aid can award any aid.
