How can I check the status of my refund?

Your student account will indicate if and when aid was disbursed and the date an excess aid check was requested from the Commonwealth. Log in to My NOVA and go to Menu > Self Service > Finances > Account Inquiry > Summary > Activity > View By (Specify Term).

Your refund check will be mailed to your NovaConnect “mailing address” within 15-20 business days from the date of disbursement.

Multiple checks may be generated since different aid types can hit accounts at different times. Be sure to maintain a current address. If you initially paid by credit card, your refund will be credited back to that card. It will appear on NovaConnect as a “Web Refund.” You will also be mailed a check if your refund exceeds the amount that you charged to your credit card. Please cash or deposit your checks when you receive them.

Your check will come from the Commonwealth of Virginia, not the school.
