Internet Explorer is blocking plug-ins that I need for INB, Kronos, and/or BDMS. What do I do?

On September 9, 2014 Microsoft will be releasing an update to Internet Explorer (IE) 8, 9, 10 and 11.  While this update should not cause any issues for most web-based applications, some people may experience problems accessing the Java version of BDMS, INB, Argos, or Kronos other web-based applications that use Java.

While every effort is being made to ensure that this update will not impact campus users, if you do experience problems, please follow the steps below.

Adding BDMS, INB, Argos, and Kronos URL's to your Internet Explorer Trusted Sites:

1.  Open Internet Options by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the Internet Explorer Window and click on Internet Options from the drop down menu as shown:

2.  Click on the Security tab.

3.  Click on the Trusted Sites green check mark icon in the "Select a zone to view or change security settings." box as shown:

4.  Uncheck the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box as shown:

5.  Click on the Sites button below the "Select a zone to view or change security settings." box as shown:

6.  Enter https://prodbdms.bsu.edu/ into the "Add this website to the zone:" box and then click the Add button as shown:

7.  Enter https://prodinb.bsu.edu into the "Add this website to the zone:" box and then click the Add button.

8.  Enter http://kronos5web.bsu.edu into the "Add this website to the zone:" box and then click the Add button.

9.  Enter https://prodmaps.bsu.edu   into the "Add this website to the zone:" box and then click the Add button.

10.  Click on the Close button to close the Trusted Sites window.

11.  Click on the OK button in the Internet Options window to close the window.

You should now be able to access Kronos, INB, BDMS, and/or Argos without errors that Java was blocked because it is out of date and needs to be updated.

If you continue to have trouble, please submit an online web ticket or call the Technology HelpDesk at 765-285-1517.
