The token link to establish my Ball State account password does not work. What do I do?

The token link to establish your Ball State account password is one-time use only.  You may try the following to establish your Ball State account password if your token link does not work:

  1. If are sure that the link has not previously been clicked, copy and paste the link from your email to the address bar in your web browser.  Sometimes the auto formatting by email services do not correctly format the full token link.  Copying and pasting the full link with all characters into your web browser address bar may correct this issue.

  2. Go to and click on the Forgotten Password link at the top of the page.  Then enter your username specified in your email and click the “Submit” button.

    Although, you have not forgotten your password, the system will step you through establishing an account password.  If you do not have a registered lifeline* email address, or your personal email address has changed, proceed to the next step.

  3. Call the Technology HelpDesk at (765) 285-1517.  You will be asked to answer security questions, including the last four digits of your Social Security number.

    Due to the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Technology HelpDesk can only supply account information to the actual owner of the account.  The Technology HelpDesk cannot release account information to parents, grandparents, siblings, spouse, friends, etc. 

*During the admissions process the personal email address you used to complete the application process is added to your Ball State account as your Lifeline email address.  This allows you to use to reset your account password.
