If you are not able to login to your workstation, please check the following:
- Check if your log-in user ID and password is correct?
- Did you forget to capitalize a letter?
- Check if caps lock is on, when typing password.
- If your password includes a number, is the number lock key not enabled?
- Did you recently change your password. Try your old password as well as your new password.
- Did you change your Novell password? The local computer password needs to be synced with
your Novell password. If you changed your Novell password, be aware that changing your Novell
password does not change your local computer password. This has to be changed seperately.
You will need to login as Workstation Only (Windows XP), or Computer Log On Only (Windows 7)
with the old Novell password and manually change the local password to match the new Novell
password.
**Note that the password may or may not be the same as your EasyPass password, as personal
desktop log-ins do not necessarily utilize EasyPass.
Windows XP Login Scenario
When logging into a Windows XP based PC via with your Novelll account, notice the "Workstation only"
box is not checked. This is the correct way to log into Novell unless you have just changed your Novell
password.
If you changed your Novell password and you can not log into Novell, you will have to log into your PC
through the local user account. To do so first check the "Workstation only" box. Workstation only login
will bypass trying to log into Novell.
Enter your usual user name, and for password input the old Novell password you used just
prior to changing it. If you have successfully logged in see the password changing instruction below.
If you still face problem logging to your workstation, please contact the Help Desk so that a tech
be assigned to resolve the issue.
Windows 7 Login Scenario
When logging into a Windows 7 based PC via with your Novelll account, notice the "Log on to Novell
Network" is displayed above the login box. This is the correct way to log into Novell unless you have
just changed your Novell password and you are not able to log into Novell.
If you changed your Novell password you will have to log into your PC through the local user account.
To do so first click the "Computer Only Logon" option under the password box. "Computer Only Logon"
will bypass trying to log into Novell.
Enter your usual user name, and for password input the old Novell password you used just
prior to changing it. If you have successfully logged in see the password changing instruction below.
If you still face problem logging to your workstation, please contact the Help Desk so that a tech
be assigned to resolve the issue.
